Edwardsburg, MI
77 miles turned 85. The pastor accompanied us for the first 12 miles--great to have his enthusiasm and knowledge of the area. In two miles we hit Indiana, where we rode most of the day before heading back into Michigan for the night. After lunch I had fun pushing hard with a quick pace line near the front of the group. Even got a draft off a dump truck--hit 35mph. We followed Kat and Laura's chalk, but when we caught up to them, we were a little lost. With lots of contemplation, and Ashley's iPhone, we rerouted ourselves through beautiful scenery and made it to the church--last group to arrive, everyone else took the perscribed path. Picture of Jason on State Line Road--half Indiana, half Michigan. Taco dinner!
Nick,
ReplyDeleteEveryday when I read of your adventures and look at your pictures I just smile. My heart is so happy for you and your great experiences. I'm so glad we got to see you this week. It was a great evening. I love you a whole bunch. Be careful of dump trucks (they tend to stop or drop things). Enjoy Chicago - hope you get to see Rigley's field.
Love, Mom
Hi Nick,
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you are enjoying the midwest. Love the pictures - especially the one of you at the top of the Ohio sign and the Laura Christine's sign. From your picture above, it looks like you are riding on a dirt road. If so, it just adds to the adventure - right? Looks like you are riding in some pretty remote areas. Reading your updates makes me wish I was traveling around the US this summer, just not on a bike. The number of miles you ride in a day amazes me. What an incredible accomplishment and adventure. Mel and Tom were over last night looking at your blog. Tom wants to go with you next time. Looking forward to more updates and pictures. We love you and miss you, Mrs. H
TREMENDOUS - every day a gift from God --- and to people --- What a combination of blessings, Nick. You are now past the 1/3 mark - a milestone to be sure! When you pass Madison, know that your Mom was 3 when we lived there. Let's see - that state is known for beer and cheese - which will it be? Thanks for all the great mental and physical pictures, Grandson --- G and G
